Where Does The Time Go?

already it is Saturday again, so we went to Friendship to buy some minced beef, Diana was going to make a chili-con-carne for this afternoon/evening,

for me it was upstairs for another play with the railway,

I gave the river banks another coat of paint, I also decided to give the banks a few 'reeds' along them, Diana came upstairs to help me and take a picture or two,

the reeds are fine pieces of I guess plastic, you have to cut them to length then glue them in place,

which is a lot easier said than done, planting them by putting a dab of glue on them is not a problem, it is when you let go of them and take your hand away you find that they have all attached themselves to your fingers!

given enough time (and patience!), I think they will look quite nice, but what a lot of effort, then it was shower and shave and get ready for this evening,

well there we were Big Jim and myself, Mr. Tony had phoned from the airport on his way back to the UK to say bye, Big Jim and myself chatted about our life and times when we worked, Big Jim in the nuclear industry and myself in domestic aquatics and for a time in a printing company, all to soon it was late so Big Jim made his farewells and left,

I must admit here that I have forgotten who it was that said to buy City Of Vice, but many thanks to you for your advice, the story of the formation of the Bow Street Runners, I thought at first that the blind brother was a little far fetched, but wait, the story is really about Henry and John Fielding (the author of Tom Jones and a celebrated blind magistrate, played by Ian McDiarmid and Iain Glen respectively), a small point if you follow the Fielding link, it should read under Sir John Fielding that the death of his brother Henry Fielding was in October 1754, not 1953,

really enjoyable with ariel views of London going through streets to where the incident takes place, if I have one criticism of this and I may add many other DVD's that have been made in the UK, there is no English subtitles for the hard of hearing, which makes them a bit difficult to follow for me without the volume turned up too loud, Diana also with out the help of subtitles finds many of these DVD's difficult to keep up with, and just think what a huge market that the film producers must be missing out on, turning a deaf ear to the deaf! but so far a great start to a new series for us to watch over the next few weeks, then it was time for bed.
