Coming Soon To A Tesco Near You,

(if you live in the UK),

a different variety of apple, known as the Raspberry Ripple, cultivated by a Worcestershire fruit tree specialist, the apples, will hit the shelves at three branches of Tesco on Monday, the supermarket giant hopes trial sales of the 'stunning' apple at three sites in London - including its Kensington Superstore - will pave the way for its introduction across a wider area next year,

the history behind the apple is that almost a decade ago a local grower informed Tenbury Wells-based fruit tree nursery Frank Matthews Ltd, that he had an extremely rare red-fleshed apple, and cuttings were then grafted on to rootstock to create an initial batch of 100 trees, from them the new apple has been grown, supermarket's apple buyer, Gill Getty, said: 'not only do they look amazing but, as the name implies, they have a hint of a raspberry flavour to add to their generally tangy, sweet flavour, there are very limited amounts of these apples as this is the first year that they have been commercially grown, but if shoppers like them then we will have plenty for next year'

so far no indication of how much they will be, or of when if ever they will be available at Tesco's here in Thailand so we can try them, for me they look delicious, there are of course many apple varieties available, for just a few have a look here.
