driving along a width restriction barrier comes into view,
but no problem, it is designed to keep lorries from driving through a residential area in Rainham, Essex, so as I am in a car keep going, but the driver did not reckon with council officials who when they measured the width decided to make the area Daimler free as well, much to the cost of the driver of the one above, according to an eye witness the vehicle was jammed in the narrow entrance in the early morning crash off Upminster Road North at around 7.30 am on Saturday, local resident Ian Slaney, 41 commented, 'it’s a quiet area and there weren’t many people around at the time, but a friend of mine said he saw the elderly man who was driving it scratching his head and wondering what on earth to do',
I guess the council official who decided on the width of the restrictions has a hang up against people who are wealthy, lets face it if a Daimler could not get through the gap what chance do owners of Bentley's or Rolls-Royce's have? of course it could have been a disgruntled council worker who did not want the Mayor who represents Rainham, the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, from taking a short cut in the official car!
