so straight on to todays post,
Sunday again, so we were off for our Sunday lunch,
this time to the Beefeater on Soi Diana,
it has two entrances, one on Soi Diana itself or this on that we walk to from the car park,
there covered seating on the outside,
every Sunday there is a 250 baht Mexican buffet,
so a few bits and pieces for starters,
Diana chose some chicken with cheese and tomatos, potato salad for me with cheese, onions and some sliced beef,
similar for Mr. Tony,
and a glass of wine,
Diana went for a main course next,
some of the starters and sauces,
all set and ready to go for the main course,
we took a long break then on to our desserts,
meringue for myself,
apple pie for Mr. Tony,
'Cheers!',
crème brûlée for Diana,
there are seats at the bar if you are meeting friends here,
we left the same way we came in, this is the view looking towards Second Road,
their card,
and map, if you like Mexican buffet food then this is the place for you,
as we were in the area, we decided to have a look around the Made In Thailand store, it is almost opposite the Central Festival on Second Road,
I say store but it is a huge building with lots of stalls inside, this is the view from the street looking into the back of the building,
and looking along Second Road, the awnings are for keeping the sun from bleaching the goods on display,
we made our way into the market, lots of stalls to choose from,
with many selling souvenirs,
and of course clothes,
lots of clothes!
and handbags, 'I want that one!'
we then watched a second from the series, the Botswana Special, again they have to buy a budget vehicle locally, this time to buy a car for less than £1500, and use it to travel from the Zimbabwean border to the Namibian border, a trip of 1,000 miles, but it must not be 4 wheel drive or be designed for off road use, it sounds easy but they had to transverse the Makgadikgadi salt pan, it has a thin solid crust, under which lies a mud like substance, it is the worlds largest salt pan, no prizes for guessing if the cars got stuck or not, the trail also went through the Okavango Delta, inhabited as one said 'by lions and tigers', so what better than to place a cows head and pieces of steak into Jame's car to attract them, I kid you not! great fun,
and to round off the evening Judge John Deed, after 2 episodes of that we said our goodbyes to Mr. Tony and we were off to bed.
