as it is Friday,
so we parked in the Friendship motorbike park,
and walked into the Soi Bukaow entrance, but first on the left hand side of the road there are a number of food stalls and the second hand market,
so we had a look in there,
saying it was secondhand was not true of every stall,
there were quite a few stalls selling new goods,
overflow from the other side of the street I guess like this one,
nice if you want something sparkly for the evening,
I then crossed the road to the market we nominally go to, some apples to nibble on later,
I bought some limes for the evening at the weekend market, 5 for 30 baht,
a quick look at the fish stall,
then on to the plant section,
the coffee shop/restaurant on the corner of the plant section,
we normally sit a few shops away from it as it is some times very crowded, Diana had returned with some new shorts for me, the last time she bought some 199 baht each, this time 299 baht, inflation is happening all over the world,
Mark called round in the afternoon, then we were off again for the weekend night market,
the balloon lady was here this week,
some time ago I bought one of these lamps as a bedroom light,
and it worked really well, enough light to see by, but not too bright to interfere with your sleep, but it does have one draw back, the bulbs only seem to last a few months, so another 5 for 30 baht,
a couple of clothes stalls opposite the bar this evening,
new for this week a couple of stands have been placed next to the bar,
I guessed they were for attaching lights or speakers to,
I started my walk around the market, a few clouds coming in but no rain this week,
the food aisles were quite busy,
as was the pet section,
a novel way to deliver six aquariums in the space of one,
sunset over the market,
I had not bought Diana a new dress for some time so I decided on the dark leopard skin one at the back and left of this stall,
there were a few customers at the bar this evening,
as night fell I found out what the new stands were for, a banner,
wires were threaded along the top and bottom of the banner,
the ends of which were raised to the top of one side of the stand,
and attached with shackles,
next the other side,
and hey presto it was almost done,
up to the top again for a few final adjustments,
and it was finished, I just hope it holds up, it does get quiet windy here so normally a banner has a few air holes in it to allow the wind to pass without the banner becoming a sail that might destroy it or the stands, but they must have calculated the forces involved before starting a project like this,
we were joined by Juu and Brian at the bar, we then said our goodbyes as we made our way back home, next feet up, our evening meal followed by a few programs from satellite television then for us off to bed.
