Straight On To Todays Post,

I have split post because there are a large number of photographs,

8 o'clock in the morning and we were in the taxi on our way speeding towards Bangkok,

soon we were entering the heart of the city as we made our way round to Moo Chit,

 

which is the station that you need to get to the market if you're going on the Sky-train, or if you're going by road this is the sign look out for, turn off here and the market is just five or so minutes away, when we go to the fish market at Chata Chock (spelt as it sounds) we always park at the JJ Mart car park which is adjacent to the fish market,

and here we are at the front or should perhaps say side as it has this entrance not on the main road,

looking out from the third floor car park this is a part of the market,

but in the distance what is now being built was in fact a part of the old fish market which was demolished some years ago, so I am guessing that this will now become part of the market again,

 

looking straight down you can just about make out the seller with some wares on the sidewalk,

cactus's and cold drinks,

but first a bite to eat we had in fact arrived at 10:10 so we made good time considering how bad the traffic was in some places, we went to the basement of JJ Mart and found a few outlets there selling the equivalent of KFC, I should mention that the basement is a treasure trove of stalls selling household goods,

outside one of my favourite shops that sell the Malawi cichlids that we keep in one of our aquariums,

after looking around there and making a mental note on what we were going to buy later, we decided to take a stroll round the market, nearby there was a shop that specialised in vivariums,

outside there were piles of driftwood,

and other pieces of decoration to make your aquarium complete,

then into the market itself and the first shop,

there are shops specialising not only in fish and plants for the indoor aquarium but for outdoor ponds as well,

 

we were quite taken by this shop as it had a number of fishes that we wanted to buy,

so price negotiated and the fishing began,

it is around this area that other shops also by their fish in wholesale quantities,

and plastic plants by the box load,

another shop and another a few more fish,

whilst waiting we had a look at some of the planted aquariums at the front of the shop,

typically these have very few fish the plants being the attraction,

I am not quite sure where this one belonged but he was certainly very vocal,

the shrine in the market behind the car park in JJ Mart where I took the photographs looking over the market,

 

then it happened, I could hear something coming up behind us, as I turned round I told Diana to be careful as a lady was walking behind us with a large metal trolley, I should have been more concerned with myself as I turned round and continue to walk I managed to hit a sign cutting my head,

 

surprisingly enough after the initial impact it did not hurt but it did bleed a little, we then decided in Diana's case to have a milk tea,

and for me a ice coffee,

if you do ever come to the fish and pet market there are lots of small food stalls like this were you can get water, Coke, plus of course freshly cooked food,

by now the bleeding had stopped,

we continued our way round the market then spotted this this gentleman,

'have tree, will travel',

having bought a number of fish around the market we made our way back to the shop that sells the Malawi cichlids we bought a few there, 'I want that one!',

as we were in Bangkok we thought we would pop over to see a friend of ours and in a coincidence we passed the Majestic Grande hotel, we have another trip planed to Bangkok and this is the hotel we may well be staying at,

 

arriving at a friends office we had a commanding view of Limpini Park,

 

then here's a thing, this picture was taken with the camera in its normal setting, look to the left and about half way up you can see a small patch of blue which is a hotel swimming pool,

 

with one press of a button I've zoomed in, just imagine if you were having an illicit relationship and you thought you were safe and someone with just a small pocket camera like me wanted to take your picture from a distance, these new cameras are incredible,

it was a long way up, I should I say down!

after having a chat and a coffee or three were back in the taxi on our way home,

I tried to take a picture of an aircraft leaving the new airport but with not much success,

then home and start unpacking our new purchases,

I mix a little bit of water from the aquarium into the bag that the fish of arrived in to help acclimatise them,

and there they are all happy in their new home,

then the same procedure in the other aquarium,

by now it was late in the afternoon or I should say early in the evening then Mr. Tony called in followed by Arry, a quick coffee later we said our goodbyes to Arry then we were off and out.
