or seen carpets woven,

 by machine or hand,

 but this is the first time we have ever seen them drawn by hand, using nothing more than a ballpoint Bic pen,

but that is what Art director Jonathan Bréchignac of Paris-based design studio Joe & Nathan has done, I guess carpets must be drawn by hand at some stage before they are woven, but the detail on these drawings are so impressive.
