Here Is A Bit Of A Brain Teaser,

imagine you are a local council and you have a stretch of canal,

and every so often you receive reports of illegal fishing, well that was the problem facing Swindon Borough Council, a council spokesman said it had received complaints about poaching, but did not have the resources to patrol the Wiltshire and Berkshire Canal in Swindon,

"We've had several complaints about illegal fishing even though there have been signs put up there for several years", the Kingshill to Rushley Platt section of the Wiltshire and Berkshire Canal is owned by the borough council, so how do you stop the illegal fishermen? easy, remove the fish!

more than 1,098kg (2,421lb) of fish have been removed, the contractors took 3 days to remove bream, carp, perch, roach and rudd from a half-mile stretch near Kingshill, the fish will be used to re-stock other lakes in the county, a spokesman for the authority said removing fish from the entire length of the canal was the best way of tackling the problem of poaching, but I cannot help thinking that with no fish in summer time to eat them, the mosquito population will sky rocket, but you know your local council knows best!
