We Were Up Early,

and on our way to Bangkok,

first stop to the Philippine Embassy,

to complete the paperwork for some of Diana's family to come to Thailand for a holiday,

all completed in record time, second stop the FedEx office in the Green Tower building,

which was just a few streets away, we sent the paperwork FedEx so that it will be delivered to Diana's family safely,

then on to our third stop,

passing lots of tuk-tuk's on the way,

and over the railway lines that crisscross Bangkok,

we were on our way to Chatuchak market, it is known as a weekend market, but the livestock section is there every day, as we drove through the city I noticed this great advertising on the sides of buildings,

a new building on the left, and an abandoned one on the right,

this is the sign we were looking for,

we continued past one of the many skyscrapers in the city,

before turning off of the highway I noticed this huge engineering project,

I am not sure what it is but it is huge,

it is near the old railway goods yard,

coming from Rama 4 Road, Klongton, Klongtoe, which was where we stopped for the FedEx office, take the second turn off,

which will lead you down to street level, follow the road,

 and turn into JJ Mart,

past some of the shops selling fish on the left,

turn right at the pottery shop into the car park,

and here we are, we parked on a different side of the car park, this is the view of the other JJ store from it,

by now it was past midday, so we had a bite to eat in one of Diana's favourite restaurants, KFC,

 then into the fish market,

there is just so much to see here, unless you do not like pets,

and all of the equipment that goes with them,

 have cage will travel!

we crossed the small road to the other part of the aquatic section,

so many fish and animals to chose from,

the larger fish for outdoor pools kept in mini ponds,

whilst the selection of fish in aquariums,

 was seemingly endless,

there were also planted or aquascaped aquariums on display like this one,

our first purchase of the day, a few tinfoil barbs, (Barbus schwanenfeldii),

we then made our way back to the main section,
past some of the mobile food sellers,

 and aquarium manufacturers,

passing a few more shops on the way,

until we came to the bird section,

 and the market shrine,

where we bumped into Diana's friend from our last visit,

I guess the local stall holders have adopted him or her as the bird seems to roam at will,

 who's a pretty boy/girl then?

past a few more bird outlets,

then a stop for a ice coffee, it is so hot here so remember to drink plenty if you plan to visit the market,

 a few ornamental bird cages,

 and food sellers,

new to us this visit a shop selling just ornamental shrimps, a huge hobby in Japan,

but be careful what fish you put with them, fish eat shrimps!

we also stocked up on fish food, it is so expensive in Pattaya, we have made our way to a shop called All Fish,

they have a few beautiful fully furnished aquariums on display,

plus so many fish for sale, we bought a few more cardinal tetras, (Paracheirodon axelrodi) at 6 for just £1 they were a bargain,

shopping over we made our way back past the cages in the bird section,

to where we had parked the car, I had a quick look at the new building, it does not seem that much has happened since our last visit,

I am guessing that when finished the market will move there, or perhaps it will be another department store?

a last look down to the bird or I should say parrot section then home we went,

arriving back we had a quick look at Diana's tomato plants, they seem to be doing quiet well,

 as does the amaryllis,

 and some of the hibiscus,

then time to release the new arrivals,

into their new home,

after our evening meal we fancied a documentary, so we watched Sea Rex 3D: Journey to a Prehistoric World again, we had watched it before, this was what I wrote then, 'I bought it some time ago and was, well more than a little disappointed to find that in one review it received just one star', well I have to say that reviewer is totally wrong, it was for us brilliant, it brought to life Georges Cuvier who many people say without a doubt, possessed one of the finest minds in history, he is first featured looking at what scientist think may be the head of a crocodile or whale, but he knows it is something that lived not recently but millions of year ago, with that he takes a young student back in time to examine two of the great earth extinction events, the big one 245 million years ago (the third in a series of five, up to 95 percent of all animalsnearly the entire animal kingdomwere lost in what is thought to be the worst extinction in history,) and the smaller one 65 million years ago, (the fifth), what a great DVD, it was even better watching it again,

a few from The Chase, a Midsomer Murder, two from Bones and after an exhausting day we were off to bed.
