Way Back In The 1950s, And Early 1960s,

we kids went through many phases of collecting things,

at one time at school a collection of rocks and minerals was started, it was about that time that miner Frank Valenzuela in the 1960s found this stunning example of Chalcedony on Chrysocolla stalactites (pocket),

rather than say it measures 9 x 7 x 6 centimeters here is a picture of it in some ones hand, Frank describes it as "a classic example of the quartz-covered chrysocolla stalactites from that time, but unusual in that it was preserved as a whole pocket." also thanks to the partially translucent exterior and a small hole in the back, the entire mineral glows when back lit, making it an even more phenomenal choice for display, but here is the sad news if you wanted to purchase this piece, it has already just been sold  by Rob Lavinsky of the Arkenstone for $5,000, but all is not lost, the company has a catalogue of thousands of other rocks and crystals for sale, have a browse here, if you are wondering why this piece of rock is featured I just though it looked kind of neat.
