Mr. Tony very kindly picked us up,
and drove to Soi Lengkee, where we parked,
looking towards Third Road the huge building there is coming on a pace,
we made our way to Soi Bukaow,
past some of the mobile food sellers,
the street looking a little busy,
and made our way into Soi Diana,
to the Robin's Nest restaurant/hotel/bar,
in the distance the LK Metro sign,
if you pass under this you have walked past the Robin's Nest,
we did not fancy the included soup in with the 279 baht menu, so straight on with the main course,
and there was plenty to chose from,
the always smiling and happy staff were as usual always happy to see us,
carvery for Slim Jim who joined us today,
and the same for myself,
Diana decided on the club sandwich,
which was served with onion rings and chips,
after a long break, ice cream time!
which was included,
Diana decided on the apple crumble,
which looked and was delicious,
there is normally a choice of custard or ice cream,
Diana chose custard but one of the waitresses thought Diana might like some ice cream as well, so she added some to Diana's dessert, a nice touch,
then coffee time,
so I ordered a latte,
meal finished we said our farewells to Slim Jim and made our way back to the car,
passing several parked up,
and mobile stalls,
this one in the street has a certain air of permanence about it,
unlike this couple,
of stop, buy and go stalls,
on this one the produce already bagged for sale,
plenty of choice,
but no customers yet,
we made our way across to Soi Lengkee,
which like the last time we were here still had huge trucks rumbling along it,
a colourful mobile stall, selling hair bands,
arriving back home we settled down to an afternoon/early
evenings entertainment with Jasper
Carrott, it is of course the stage name of Robert Norman Davis OBE, is
an English comedian, almost dead pan in some parts of his delivery we all found the
collection of televised shows that made up the DVD hilarious, here is one of
his quotes,
Laughter is the best medicine - unless you're diabetic, then
insulin comes pretty high on the list.
we said our goodbyes to Mr. Tony, and settled down to watch Frankenstein, or at least the monster he created, for some reason many critics took a dislike to the film, we both thoroughly enjoyed it, we followed that by a couple from TMN, then for us off to bed.
