A Bird Spotter Waits Two Hours For A Rare Bird,
only to see it eaten by a Buzzard,
the locals gave it a typical British football welcome, the elusive Grey Phalarope, called in at St Gothian Sands near Hayle in Cornwall, presumably for a bite to eat, I suppose in Greenland, Iceland, Siberia and North America, where Phalaropes come from there are not many Buzzards, if you are interested the Latin name for Grey Phalaropes is Phalaropus fulicarius,
Paul Freestone of St Ives, Cornwall, captured the incredible sequence of pictures at St Gothian Sands with fellow twitcher Tim Twiggs, 43, "The funny thing is neither of us had seen a buzzard do that before either so from a bird spotting point of view it was two birds with one stone" thank goodness for that!
