we had not eaten there for a couple of weeks,
we had a drink at the bar as it was quiet busy with all of the tables taken, so we read the Sunday papers, I was looking at a small cruise for Diana and myself if we apply for a visa to visit the UK next year, there was one going to Iceland the price seemed quiet fair until I read the small print, there was an extra charge for each person per day for 'gratuities' then another extra charge for the cabin or some such, quick bit of mental arithmetic and the surcharges came to more than the price of the cruise! in the same vein I looked at a coach holiday to Scotland, found a nice one for us going to the Isle of Skye and a few others places, read the fine print and found the holiday did not include hotels add another £65.00 per night for the room, there was me thinking when a coach or plane operator used the word holiday the transport and hotel was included!
but back to our lunch, Diana had the trio of meats,
I settled for the lamb with two Yorkshire puddings, 'Cheers!',
then home feet up and a few ZZZZ's followed by a game of Monopoly, Diana won, the far part of the board covered with Diana's housing empire!
by now it was getting late so time for some fresh fruit to nibble on, those huge lychee's I like so much, when we had finished we watched a fascinating program on the Al Jazera news program, which by the way if you have never watched it, try it, far more informative and factual than the BBC, watching both it is surprising how many newsworthy stories the BBC does not show, but the program we were watching was on the history of the Nile, I was already aware that the British had made a treaty in 1929 regarding use of the water of the Nile, but it was the ramifications of this treaty that the program looked at,
to round off the evening two from MI 5, Episode #2.4, Blood Money, Twenty billion in US aid has disappeared from Russia. Meanwhile, MI5 is called in to deal with the theft of a billion dollars from a well known bank - that also handles government accounts, Episode #2.5, I Spy Apocalypse, a routine MI-5 training exercise to handle external calamities turns sinister when the team finds out that the threat is real, great stuff but always there is a let down in the story line, for instance a cleaner (a member of the MI 5 team), is seen covertly raking in details in a stockbrokers trading room, not one surveillance camera is in there - I do not think so! but still worth watching, then for us off to bed.
