We Started The Day With Breakfast At Home,

Diana cooked us both a English breakfast,

Kai had popped out to do some shopping so we were waiting for her to return,

when she had we both made journeys into town, first stop for us was to the photo shop,

we are going to send some pictures to Diana's parents that she took when she was in the Philippines, outside the shop there are always lots of stalls,

next stop for us was to drop off some dry cleaning, then to 3BB to pay our Internet bill, the day just seemed to sail past,

then it was time for our evening meal,

the decision was made it was going to be Ruen Thai, it is on Second Road behind Casa Pacal, almost opposite the Marriott, we just had to have our pictures taken in the frame outside, it was just like Brighton pier,

Steve and Kai outside the entrance,

 and of course us,

as you walk through the entrance the restaurant opens up into a outside seating area, but with covered seating also available,

in the back of the seating area there is a stage with musicians playing Thai music, we chose a table at away from the stage but almost in the centre of the dinning area,

two coconut shakes for the girls,

red wine for the boys, some of our starters have just arrived,

there does not seem to be any set time for the shows, this one started at 7.50 in the evening,

the dancers wearing traditional Thai costumes,

it was all very graceful and well done,

next a show of duelling with swords and hands,

 followed by some more dancing,

 all very graceful,

the next act was a fire show with the performer twirling his fire stick with ease and dexterity,

meanwhile of course the food just kept arriving,

 lots of it,

including baby clams in a spicy sauce, plus steamed mussels,

Diana went for a sizzling beef dish with peppers,

there was a break in the dancing before the next troupe arrived,

 all in perfect time,

 and with beautiful costumes,

an excellent meal with nice entertainment as well, thoroughly recommended,

as we left we noticed these carved watermelons, a skill that must have taken years, (and countless water melons) to learn,

a quick pose from the ladies outside,

then over the road to the Malibu, for a drink or two and to take in the show,

it features dancers miming to hit songs,

 wearing lots of make up,

 and gay costumes,

with quick clothes changes between each act,

I wonder if it is illegal to over load a hand cart?

we then made our way to Walking Street, via Soi Post Office,

to Beach Road, one of Diana's favourite eating places still with its Christmas lights,

a mobile bar had set up shop on the sidewalk,

the Christmas displays were still here,

so the girls had to have a pose,

a view along one of the pedestrian walkways between Second and Beach roads,

then we were in Walking Street itself,

 lots of neon signs,

first port of call Fahrenheit, I had never been in there before, it was a pleasant surprise,

there is always something different to see on the street,

next stop Sweethearts where the manager made us more than welcome, after a few in there we made our way along the street, then a strange thing happened, as we posed outside another bar before we went in to have a few rounds of drinks, we were told in no uncertain terms 'No pohto', we are in a public place, in the street, but outside the bar you are forbidden to take a picture, oh well, the owner really does not need our money I guess, so we moved on,

to Champions where we are always welcome to have our picture taken outside,

after more than a few in there we started to make our way home, first stopping at a fruit stall to buy some durian, Kai had been looking forward to buying some all holiday long,

 Diana was tempted too,

it is a tricky business getting to the flesh,

thick gloves have to be worn on at least one hand,

the fruit exposed from its spiny outer shell,

and into the box for the journey home,

he made it look so easy, then home, feet up, a nightcap and off to bed.
