Back In The Late 1960s These Were As Cheap As Chips,

old minis like this one,

but how times have changed, this unrestored, as found in a barn Austin Mini Se7en De Luxe Saloon, registration number XLL 27, was the eighth car of its type to come off the production line at Longbridge in May 1959, three months before the official debut of the Mini on Aug. 26 of that year, according to correspondence from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, it had a presale estimate of 12,000 pounds to 15,000 pounds,

so how much did it go for? an amazing 40,250 pounds ($65,382) at an auction on Bank holiday Monday the 30th April at the RAF Museum in Hendon, crikey, you could have bought two new ones for that! but how much does the new owner think it will be worth after having spent hundreds of hours restoring it? still it will be nice to see another old car hopefully used again on the road, I just hope it does not end up unused in some ones museum.
