First Thing,

out shopping,

 to Makro,

our supplies of wine had run a bit low,

in the afternoon Russ called by so we were off to Prichai seafood restaurant in Ban Ampour for our meal and to watch the sun go down, but then disaster stuck, it was closed, and will be for the next 2 days, so plan B went into action, we drove about 30 meters or so along the road to the next restaurant called Tree@sea,

the reason it is called that is because there is a huge tree in the entrance,

there is also a waterlily pool at the front of the bar area,

with a couple of them in flower,

like Prechai there is a selection of fresh food to chose from,

we sat at the tables at the rear of the building to be near the sea,

Russ was then adopted by one of the local cats,

the cat decided that Russ was going to be a soft touch for some food later,

Russ was not so sure,

despite moving the cat several times it just kept coming back,

our first course arrived,

special fried rice with crab meat,

prawns with asparagus,

and prawn pancakes,

we watched the sun go down,

between courses,

it appears there were quiet a few dinners that had arrived by boat,

looking back towards Prechai it did not seem that any work was taking place, so I guess it was closed for a staff holiday or similar,

a quick picture of our table,

and the sun was almost gone,

on to our next course,

tom yam goong, we asked for it to be made with coconut milk,

some more rice,

then one of  Diana's favorite courses, curried crab,

followed by a dish we all love,

rock lobster fried in garlic butter,

all of which were delicious,

a really wonderful meal and as it happens in was nice to try this restaurant, the whole meal was much more relaxed than Prechai which can be a little hectic at times as it is normally so busy, but it is nice to know that there are now 2 choices that we have tried when we next make the journey out here, the price of the meal including a cocktail for Diana, 2 beers for Russ and corkage for my wine came to 1,900 baht for the three of us,

then home, both of the restaurants are in the town of Ban Amphur, go along the Sumkivitt Highway past the Ambassador Hotel on your right, then turn right at the next set of traffic lights, take the first on the left before the market, dive a few hundred meters and you will see 3 or 4 restaurants on your right, Prichai is the second one with Tree@sea a little further along the road, park up and enjoy, after a few nightcaps we said our farewells to Russ, then as it was late for us we were off to bed.
