it being the long anticipated Kawasaki Ninja H2R,
but what makes this 4 cylinder Kawasaki so special? for one thing it has a
supercharger, secondly the 998cc engine produces 300 BHP! yes that is twice the
power that my turbo charged 3 liter truck makes, all of that power on just 2
wheels, it is certainly going to be a flyer, to put this in perspective, back in 1973, H2Rs made about
90 hp and reached just over 170 mph, as speed increases roughly as the cube
root of the horsepower ratio (which is 300/90 = 3.33), that suggests 1.5 x 170
= 250 to 260 mph and acceleration to match,
the lucky people at Cycle World got
their hands on one to try on a dynamometer,
as it was a prototype no figures were released but it sounded awesome, with the exhaust manifold glowing red hot with the heat the engine produced, the bike
is of course a out and out race bike and if you want one you had better be as quick as the bike has a shut off date for ordering, deposits must be in by December 14th. the bikes will be available on a first come first served basis, so put your deposits in soon, but rumors have it that a road version
will be introduced at some stage, and yes please I would like one, but where to
put the carrier for the shopping?
