with thunder and lightning lasting for hours,
although difficult to see the outside lights had switched on, they normally lite up at about 7.00 in the evening when it is getting dark as they are on a light sensitive switch, but they are on now and I took this picture at 2.30 in the afternoon!
this is a short video it was nonstop thunder and lightning,
as it was Halloween we had decided to go out tonight but all afternoon we were worried that it would not stop raining, but at about 5.00 in the afternoon it finally stopped, so glad rags on and we were off,
to Central Festival on Second Road,
where they had a few Halloween displays,
we had decided to return to the Edge,
which is on the 14 level or 6th. floor,
we actually took the lift to the 7th floor and had to walk past the hanging sculpture above it, last time we were below it,
then along the corridor that leads to the two restaurants, Flair and the Edge,
where we were greeted by the staff,
we had booked a table for two but as we were early there were few dinners there, later in the evening it became quite crowded,
first stop the wine counter,
for a glass of bubbly,
'Cheers!',
fresh seafood for starters there was a selection of crab, prawns and oysters,
with lots of different sauces to accompany them,
a top up of bubbly,
on to our starters, Diana chose tempura prawns with some cold meats and salsa,
Diana then went to the bar-b-q counter,
and picked some huge prawns and rock lobsters to be bar-b-qued,
which looked and were delicious,
for myself I decided on some cold cuts,
there was a nice selection there,
as well as a number of different breads and rolls,
selection made,
and I just had to have another glass,
on to the pizza's
so many to chose from,
decision made with some rice as well,
for my main course a couple of slices of ham,
expertly carved,
I was so tempted by the steaks and chicken waiting to be cooked,
but I resisted and instead picked a few pieces from the heated range, chicken, pork, a delicious few pieces of stewed beef and some baked salmon,
but then I gave into temptation and had a glass of medicinal red to go with my meal,
'oops!', I forgot I still had some bubbly,
for Diana's main course she decided on some pasta,
which was prepared for her,
the chef was putting on quiet a show,
which we all enjoyed,
ta-da!
I have concentrated on the main items of food on display but there were also lots of side dishes to compliment your meal,
then the time came, desserts!
the choice was almost endless,
so many to chose from,
all so tempting,
with some made especially just for you,
naturally lots of fresh fruit,
right next to this,
the chocolate fountain, Diana's favourite, just use one of the wooden skewers to impale a piece of fruit or other tit-bit, pop it under the fountain and you have a chocolate covered sweet to go,
no prizes for guessing what Diana chose!
it looked and I am guessing was delicious,
as was the cream topped fruit,
what a great way to celebrate Halloween and round off a perfect evening,
for myself it was a visit to the cheese bar,
for some brie and biscuits, by now it was late, very late, we always take our time over our meals, during one of the courses in the evening I had a chat with one of the Chefs,
what an excellent job he and the rest of the staff makes of offering so many items to tempt you with, meal over so it was downstairs to one of the many waiting blue and yellow taxis and home we went, the reason we take the blue and yellow taxis incidentally, is that we have found they are the same price as a baht bus, but we have the whole taxi to ourselves and of course it is air condition and in the worst case scenario out of the rain, home, feet up, a nightcap and for us off to bed.
