and then just got
better and better, firstly
the burglar alarm company telephoned and asked if it
was convenient for them to call round and fix the alarm,
it appeared that the system had detected that the battery which
is used if there is a power cut had failed, so it was replaced and the system
given the once over and all was well, 1,500 baht for
the battery and service, the next piece of good news was that Num Chai called to say that the quote for
our camera was ready at 4,800 baht, so could we pop in and leave a deposit and
work on repairing it would begin,
then it was open presents time,
of course Diana
knew what this one was as I had to keep it in the fridge,
a tin of Hershey's kisses,
but his one kept her guessing,
it was a bracelet watch that I had
bought for her from Russia,
it was a tad too large, but a trip
to the watch specialist the next time we go to Soi Diana and it
will fit perfectly,
each of 5 panels has a flower
painted in porcelain on it,
attached to
the bracelet with fine silver filigree,
if you press a button on the right of the
biggest flower,
it opens to reveal a watch,
next the big one,
well it was quite small, Diana did not
have a clue as to what it was,
until she open the box and there was a
gold shop red bag inside,
Ta-Da!
when ever we go shopping I always look at
cameras, televisions, motorbikes and cars, for Diana it is clothes,
handbags and gold shops that she likes, well Diana had a low
key birthday earlier this year, but I remembered her saying
how much she liked this bracelet, so whilst she was at the beauty parlour I
snuk out and bought it, she was so surprised!
then it was my turn,
by now the floor was looking like a
confetti makers convention,
then I got there,
a shirt,
another Ta-Da!
and the advent calendar was finished,
we then made a move over to Nick and
Maureen's we were going to spend Christmas and Boxing day with them,
in case you did not notice Diana had a new
hair style, so she just had to take a selfie of it and her new bracelet,
most regular readers of our blog will know
I view the kitchen as a personal death trap that has been designed by minds
more devious and cunning than mine to ensnare and trap me, causing me no end of
pain and discomfort, so I spend as little time in them as I can, so when Nick
took the turkey out of the oven he said it was done perfectly, I asked how did
he know?
he pointed to this little red
plunger sticking out of the turkey breast,
I had never seen one of these red things
before, but it appears that if you buy a Norbest
turkey each bird will have
one of these in it, as soon as the bird is cooked the red plunger pops out to
let you it is time to eat, amazing!
Christmas crackers and hats,
so it is time to tuck in,
prawn cocktails for starters,
hats on,
and tuck in,
then on to our main course,
'Cheers!', from all of us,
before dessert it was time for presents,
lots of Marks
and Spencer chocolates for
Maureen,
a shirt for Nick,
and a surprise present for Maureen, a
handbag,
for ourselves Nick and Maureen very kindly
bought chocolate's for Diana and shortbread for myself,
Nick excelled himself yet again by making
a sherry trifle, even the sponge at the bottom of it,
sheer decadence!
next of course a couple of games of
Monopoly, first blood to Diana,
the second a
victory for myself, we then settled down to watch some more shows from the UK,
Morecombe and Wise Christmas specials and a number of Only Fools and Horses, after a late night snack we
were then all off to bed.
