We Had A Bit Of A Busy Day,

both Mick and Alex called by for a coffee and a chat,

and it was time to plant the cactus and plants we had bought at the market,

so spoons out,

and remove the dead cactus,

and make a hole,

for the new one to go in, oh the concentration!

in it goes,

add a bit of soil around it,

then remove the next dead one,

and add the new one with the spoons, speaking of spoons back in the mid 1950's there was a chap on our street that could play them really well

almost finished this mini garden,

Diana took a few pictures of some of the cactus that we have,

whist I was getting the next pot,

sadly I do not know any of the Latin names for them,

having said that I think this one is a mammalia specie,

there were a couple like this one,

that although they were growing well had small mites on them that we just could not get rid of, so they had to go in case they infected the others,

hole made,

and in he goes,

all finished,

 our three cactus gardens,

 they look a little tatty,

as we need to replace the small stones on the top of the soil, so another trip to the market at some time, as an aside a cactus in the family can have a huge knock on effect on the whole household, as this song by Jake Thackray makes all too clear,

that was me finished, whilst I was playing cactus Diana planted the lemon tree we bought, in fact we bought two, the first for 100 baht then several stalls later we found one three times the size for just 50 baht more, so we bought that one as well, it just goes to show that we should have had a look around first,

you may remember I bought some Venus fly traps some time ago, well they are still doing well,
I also bought some seeds,

about a year ago, but they have not done so well,

but a couple of the pitcher plants,

have made an effort,

this is the biggest of the Venus fly traps, now 1 year old from seed,

and a pitcher I bought about 3 months ago,

has seemed to have settled in well, after our evening meal a episode from Hungry Sailors, one from the quiz show The Chase, a Bond, Dr. No, followed by two episodes of the griping series The Fall, next for us we were off to bed.
