I dropped off Nick and Maureen back at their home,
then on the way home stocked up with milk, ice and a few other things and bought the flowers for the table decoration, well it was Sunday,
today Diana had prepared some of the lamb chops we bought some time ago in Big C Extra, they were delicious, also pigs in blankets and a selection of vegetables,
naturally the fish were happy to see us,
and have a few extra feeds as they watched us,
today I decided on chrysanthemums for the table, one thing I did forget to buy was apples for the rhubarb crumble, so to make just a slight difference as well as a touch of cinnamon Diana added some crushed almonds, the crumble was so nice,
we spent some time listening to music, then on with Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man's Chest, great fun and special effects,
then a real treat, we had
both watched the Grand Budapest Hotel before on TMN cable and really enjoyed it, so we
decided to buy it on a Blu-Ray disc, it was well worth it, a brilliant story of
greed, corruption and restitution, not to every ones taste I am guessing, but it
was so well made we were both captivated by it, as an aside the
cast includes four Oscar winners: Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Fisher Stevens and F. Murray Abraham and eleven actors that
were nominated for an Oscar (not necessarily in the acting category): Bill Murray, Jude Law, Jeff Goldblum, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Harvey Keitel, Bob Balaban, Tom Wilkinson, Willem Dafoe, Saoirse Ronan and Ralph Fiennes,
to round our evening off, something completely different, Sleepy Hollow, the series, it took a little time to get use the the idea that the action was being played out in modern times but it soon developed into a surprisingly enjoyable series, we watched three non-stop, the disc we have is series 1, with 13 episodes, if it is as good at end of them as it has been so far we might just buy series 2, I might just mention that there are a number of aerial shots that are just so nice to look at, by now it was late, very late, so for us we were off to bed.
