News About Our Television,

you may remember this photograph,

after being placed in the transport box on the 17th, the couriers took it to LG to have a new screen installed,

we then received the above from LG, received by LG on Thursday and then being sent back to us on Friday, new screen replaced, how about that for service!

we received this from the couriers,

and then these two messages from the couriers,

one for collection and one for delivery, how strange,

the couriers arrived as promised, for some reason they had no record of them picking up our television, thankfully I could show the driver our blog, which he photographed and sent to his boss, so that was all right then, next open the transport box to deliver our television, the box was opened and guess what was inside?

absolutely nothing! LG had sent a empty transport box! after the couriers left I was upstairs in the telephone queue to LG, eventually explaining what had happened, to cut a long story short after a few telephone calls it transpired that the box was to pick up our television they already had, the SMS message to say it was ready should not have been sent, and the delivery note to the driver should not have been issued, and the reason our television could not have been sent? it was that it was not repaired until this morning! why does this sort of thing always happen to us? so if all is true, our television has now been repaired and tested, and is waiting to be picked up at some stage, I was told I would be called with a update yesterday, but no such luck!

in the afternoon after the telephone calls it was feet up for The Legend of Tarzan, we had watched it before a few months ago, but I fancied watching it again,

after Diana return hone from work and our evening meal it was time for Blitz, a cop killer is on the lose, and some one has to bring him to justice, and guess who does? quiet a good cops and cop killer film, which we both enjoyed,

we rounded off the evening with The Rise of the Krays, a bit of a violent one, but how else could the twins lives be shown? it was sort of alright, but somehow something was missing, but there it is, and with the end of that we were of to bed.

Dear John and Alley, we bought a LG only because if you followed us in Thailand we had a similar problem with a Samsung,

https://stanleykemp.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-day-started-with-some-great-news.html

above the post as it is being replace for free by Samsung, and a friend had the same with a Sony!

they also suffer from green spot,

https://ap.community.sony.com/s/question/0D54O000064kszGSAQ/my-sony-55inch-oled-has-a-green-spot-in-the-top-middle-of-the-screen-whats-the-cure?language=en_US

also if you buy a Sony chances are you have bought a LG screen, Sony do not make their own OLED screens, they buy them in and rebrand them with their own electrics, so Sony owners have imported the green spot inherent in the LG OLED screens, as for Sony television screens, suppliers LG are leading the way, Samsung made OLEDs for Sony not far behind,

on the 4th of January 2022 this was announced:

'The company's current and well-regarded OLED sets use panels from LG Display that are tuned with Sony's own processing. But the new flagship Bravia XR A95K TV will include a QD-OLED (quantum dot organic light emitting diode) panel manufactured by none other than Samsung Display'.

so for us LG it was then! best regards, Stan and Diana.

Stan-I was unaware of LG screens in Sony TVs. I know Sony provides the software and actual picture processor but looking on the web see lots of complaints of green spot. We do have the Costco five year full warranty so that is good. Could not buy Samsung as had a green spot on last tv. Costco replacement was a LG….so you can’t win! Thanks for Sony info. Tells us you can’t trust anyone! Sad.
Regards
John & Alley
