Up Early And Along To The Fishing Shop For Some Bait,

we are meeting Nick and Maureen for a day by the lake,

before going into the shop I noticed a banner for a fishing tournament,

it appears to be over 2 days, I wonder where it is? (the lady in the shop did not know),

any way off to the new fishing park we found on Soi Siam Country Club road last time we went fishing, it was closed, we seem to be the kiss of death for fishing parks! so back to see if Uncle Sam's was open again, far from being open it was being pulled down, but we did see another sign for Ponmar fishing park so we had a look, it was off of Soi Numb Plan Wan, on the other side of the road of Uncle Sam's about 300 meters nearer to Sumkivitt,

we parked up, everything seemed very neat and tidy,

also there was a play area for families with kids,

even better news was that this side of the lake was in the shade,

it also had a few nice mature trees,

the owners also kept a parrot,

I am not sure what the specie is,

along the side there was a nice boardwalk,

very soon we were all set up to go,

Diana looking forward to a nice relaxing day fishing,

Nick caught the first fish, a small barb, unfortunately this type is full of small bones, so he went back for another day, then I had a nice sized fish on,

a tilipia,

it was a good size, so first one for the pot!

then another rod bender,

big though this one was, he too was full of annoyingly small bones, so back he went,

then another huge Tilipia, this was really good, most of the fish had been of a good size,

I could not believe my luck, another one!

by now Diana had really gotten into fishing mode!

as another source of amusement a chicken had wandered over, the chicks eagerly pecking at some bait on the floor,

the bait we were using was bread based, so the chicks loved it,

then food time as a cart appeared,

Diana fancied some banana pancakes, so this is how they are made, first dice the banana,

take two prepared dough balls per pancake,

spread one on top of the other,

stretch them,

all of this eagerly watched by some of the owners kids who were also waiting for their pancake,

next some oil and butter into the pan,

add an egg and the bananas,

apply heat and fold the pancake,

then continue to cook,

both sides until a nice rich golden brown,

slice using the edge of the cooking tool,

add a generous helping of sweet condensed milk,

pay 30 baht,

and enjoy!

meanwhile Nick was hauling them out,

Diana decided to feed the chicks again,

but the mother hen mugged Diana, so it was food from the bowl, not from the hand,

the kids really enjoyed the pancake, by now it was getting late so we made a move to Nick and Maureens,

the seedlings we saw a couple of weeks ago are now getting a size,

so a few beers to recount the days succsess, then a loverly meal followed by chesse and buiscuits,

and a chocalate Magnum for Diana, then home feet up

to watch the first part of The Godfather trilodgy, it has been written about so many times, but Diana really enjoyed the first part, so parts two and three for later over the week end, then Poirot, first The Case of the Missing Will, in 1926, rich but childless Andrew Marsh writes a will providing generous bequests to friends, associates, and their children while leaving the bulk of his estate to a medical foundation, then He announces that he is going to alter his will and leave 100% of the estate to his ward, on the same night he confides to Poirot that he is terminally ill and wants the detective to be executor of his estate, he is lured out of the house and murdered before he can write the new document, in the classic words, 'who done it?' then The Adventure of the Italian Nobleman, Captain Hastings decideds to buy a car, but nothing in life is ever simple, then for us time for bed.
