Common Sense At Last,

then Health & Safety go and muck it up!

at a summit between PM David Cameron and President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris, the UK has signed a deal with France to start building nuclear power stations, the agreement would create a number of commercial deals in the nuclear energy field, worth more than £500m and creating 1,500 UK jobs,

now lets go forward and stop this nonsense about wind farms and solar power, in the UK as in most places it does not work, no wind, no sun  = no power, the greenies of course shout out 'put the power in batteries!', show me the cost of a scheme with batteries big enough to supply the UK, the maintenance of them and the cost of replacing them say every five years also the cost of environmentally disposing of the old batteries! it would be horrendous,

also at a stroke people in the UK, can save themselves some money in fuel bills, the Government have finally admitted it costs each household 15% to fund green energy schemes meet emissions targets, the added expense could add up to £200 to the average energy bill by 2020 – unless householders dramatically cut the amount of power they use, so use less electric and all will be well, or scrap green taxes and go nuclear!
now lets have the Health & Safety spin on things, the "stress test" report into weaknesses at the Hartlepool plant was illicitly downloaded on to a USB memory stick and then mislaid while the official was at a nuclear conference in India, it contained sensitive technical details and maps of the power station,

the loss was considered so serious that ministers were immediately informed, the culprit was a senior inspector at the Health and Safety Executive, working for one of its agencies, the Office for Nuclear Regulation, last night an ONR spokesman said, 'the use of unencrypted USB pen drives is not permitted by ONR for transporting documents with a security classification,' Heath & Safety, working for the good of us all.
