we arrived at Ponmar Fishing Park,
which is in Soi 22 in Soi Numb Plan Wan, the road that is next to and runs parallel to Soi Siam Country Club,
as we were early we had the lake to ourselves,
as soon as we arrived Diana started playing games on my mobile phone, they must have been enjoyable games as she did not start on her breakfast for some time,
then Mr. Sleep called by,
for 40 winks,
fishing was slow, but soon we both had a fish each,
I had spilled some bread that we use as bait on the boardwalk,
soon a couple of lizards appeared from nowhere,
I had always thought that they only ate insects,
but these seem to have developed a taste for bread,
then another fish, unfortunately not for the pot, the fish we were catching are the ones that are full of bones, so back they went,
then I saw something in the sky I had never seen before,
a straight rainbow, it seemed to go from cloud to cloud, also not a drop of rain was falling,
then there was a metallic blue flash crossing the pond, it was a Indian Roller (Coracias benghalensis), although not a handsome bird at rest it has the most beautiful blue wings when it flies,
one of the lizards came back,
then another, a small catfish,
one more for Nick,
unfortunately another one that was not nice to eat,
a quick picture for the album, then back it went,
Nick then spotted this skink lizard, in the sunlight it had a metallic glossy skin, but as soon as I got the camera out it was in the shadows and away, nice to look at for a few moments though,
Diana took a walk to the pets the owners of the fishing park keep,
a few rabbits,
and a couple of birds,
Diana then started playing games again, it was at this point Nick said at 3 - 2 to me it was time to head back to Maureen,
no sooner said than he had a bite,
the equaliser, so we came back with a 3 - 3 draw, but what a lovely way to spend the day,
as we arrived back at Nick and Maureen's house the flame trees were still in flower,
although in the afternoon it was not so bright, in the morning the flowers really did look like flames,
as usual Ta-Taa was pleased to see us all back home,
so we settled down to a beer, Maureen had whilst we were away been preparing a roast pork with stuffing and crackling meal for us all, then down to the serious part of the evening,
Monopoly! looking at Nick's face no prizes for guessing who won! many thanks to Nick and Maureen for a wonderful day, for us we were then back to 388 where we watched some Pawn Stars and Kings of Restoration, then for us we were off to bed.
