safe and sound,
this is the start of my trip, the drive to the airport going past the Christmas lights display on the Sukhumvit Road,
then to the airport,
where I had my evening meal, though to be fair I did not fancy squid, randy or otherwise,
I settled for a club sandwich with a beer or two,
arriving in the Philippines then to Diana's family's house,
Diana with Sandio,
some more of the family, Dioshane, Donna, Sandio and Diana,
naturally I had to have a beer to get over the rigours of the journey, a local brew, Red Horse,
Diana in the living room,
Diana's father,
Diana waited till we were all asleep to take a picture of me,
the next morning we were up and getting ready for a trip,
we were going to see some land that the family had bought,
it is about 300 square meters, from the two people in the picture to the tree line,
in the foreground the family tricycle, the walled area behind is about the same size as the one Diana's family have bought,
it certainly looks like a good sized plot,
the family trike,
we decided to take a look at the plot that had already been built upon,
the owner had decided upon a Filipino style house,
in the distance Mount Pinatubo,
that did so much damage back in 1991,
all around there are lots of rice fields,
next stop we booked into our hotel, the Orchid Inn Resort in Angeles City,
their card,
as we arrived work was going on, the pool table was being recovered,
it has a nice sized bar area,
so breakfast, a couple of ham sandwiches for me, Diana had already eaten at home,
our room 1,600 pesos a night, ($38.90, ₤23.95),
it is situated on a road that runs parallel to the main strip, with a few bars along it,
and some almost opposite,
after a little look around we made our way back to the bar where the pool table recovering had been completed,
as you might expect Christmas trees everywhere out here,
we decided on a coffee, but went to the back of the building to look at the pool,
and very nice it looked too,
the last time we stayed here we were on the second floor, if you want to continue looking at pictures of our trip to the Philippines just scroll down then hit the 'older posts' button.
