Binmen Find Stones In Garden Rubbish!
the binmen utterly shocked by their discovery refuse to take the bin,
although this was a garden waste bin, the council claimed that it also contained sweet wrappings, so a good neighbour with the aid of a long stick took the offending items out and guess what? they still refused to take the bin, so it was time for action, the rubbish lorry was blocked in by a car, a point needed to be proven, but instead of a little commonsense prevailing the council dispatched another lorry to pick up the single bin!
North Hertfordshire District Council dispatched first a supervisor to the scene, and when that failed a second lorry – this time a street cleaning vehicle 'qualified' to take the waste – to empty the brown bin, Mr Bilton, a roofer who lives in the street with his 35-year-old wife Jeanette and their two children, called the incident an example of 'red tape gone mad' as he stepped in to help a female neighbour, 'To send a second bin lorry to empty one bin was just ridiculous, there is no give or take – people are just left trying to figure out what can and can't go in these bins if they want to recycle and it really isn't clear, 'Council tax keeps going up while council workers fail to be reasonable or show any sort of humanity towards the people they are supposed to serve.'
told that Mr Bilton claimed he had removed the offending items, the spokesman said: 'If he had, we would clearly have taken the bin.' I would like to believe that last statement North Hertfordshire District Council, but some how it seems a little hollow as you were given the chance to do just that!
