the New Simon Beer Bar complex, we have been past there a couple of time in the evenings, the bars at the front seem to be busy as do the ones at the rear that look out to sea, but the rest were very quite,
the upstairs here, (opposite Soi Diamond) is being made in to a world class go-go bar, rumoured to be open at the end of February, the name being The Pleasure Dome, but in the past 2 months or so I have not seen any work going on, so who knows?
the 'New Year' signs about to come down jugging by the nearby ladder,
the central row of bars in Soi Diamond,
no parking on the right today, but double parking on the left is OK!
on Tuesday it was Mick's birthday, so he invited us round for a glass of wine, mark called round with us,
the girls preparing some food,
"Cheers!" from Mick and myself,
when she found out it was Micks birthday the lady that Mick and Mass rents the house from brought him over a bottle of wine,
and there she is,
there was also another party going on over the road, another resident of the Soi was having a party,
now to the serious stuff, eating!
us as well,
next morning a food cart appeared,
so it was over the road for more food,
fish and chicken,
breakfast for the girls,
and a few dead soldiers in the morning,
later in the afternoon Mick received a call to say a jeep had been brought up from Sattahip for him to look at,
it all looked sound, but it had a Nissan engine, not the original Mitsubishi one,
and worse the book had not been changed to show this, so it had not been taxed for 3 years, the seller said she would get it changed and then call again, so Mick will wait till then,
then it was get ready for a night on the town,
it was now just past 8.00, Walking Street looked very deserted from just a few days before,
we then called in to the newly opened Baccara go-go, nice seats, music not to loud, happy hour vodka and soda 59 baht, San Mig light 125 baht,
we had a couple in there before calling in to see Grieg in Sweethearts, same happy hour there,
lots of happy faces at Sweethearts, after a few in there we were off to Champions, Big Jim had already arrived, as had a couple of guys buying basket after basket of ping-pong balls, so everyone was in happy mode, a couple of night caps for the road and it was onto the motorbike taxi's and home we went.
