and off to town,
we popped in to see Juu in Champions as usual, had a few too many but Juu kindly gave us a lift home,
after a sleep it was off again on Sunday morning to the Punch and Judy,
Diana looked and felt fine, but I must admit I did have a slight hangover,
but roast lamb with two Yorkshire puddings soon put that right!
Diana decided on a club sandwich, which with the chips was huge,
'Cheers!', from me, with a medicinal red wine,
eyes down, tuck in!
next stop Monday morning, Bangkok airport,
I must admit as usual the airport puts the excuse we have for an airport in the UK, Heathrow, to shame, why do we make such a hash of our airports? it would be nice if, just for once there was not a massive amount of building work going on, also more lifts for the car park would be appreciated by all travellers, but I guess it will never happen,
new for this visit a floral/fruit display,
Diana doing a bit of wishful thinking,
if you have to ask the price you can not afford it, so that lets me out then!
Diana had a soup, but for me I thought I would wait till we were on the plane as I was not hungry,
boarding any moment now,
then goodbye Thailand, we will be back!
a quick picture by Diana,
then time for the in flight meal,
whilst watching the clouds,
next stop Singapore, a great driver less train zipped us to the modern clean terminal,
then taxi to our hotel, past the Singapore flyer,
our hotel the Hotel 81, Bencoolen, 89 Singapore dollars, it was advertised as, but only for locals, 119 dollars for tourists, as a guide 2 Singapore dollars is roughly £1.00,
so we booked in, then out to see the sights, first stop Raffles City,
on to Raffles Hotel,
through the arcade,
and into the court yard,
where we were meet by a most charming barman, who strangely enough we found out was from the Philippines,
there was of course no question as to what we were going to drink,
as the drinks were prepared I had a look around the court yard, on all levels there were shops and restaurants,
then our drinks arrived, 2 Singapore slings,
at 25 Singapore dollars each,
yes that is £12.50 a glass, be warned Singapore is not cheap!
but the pigeons are very friendly,
in case you do not know what goes into a Singapore sling here is a list of the ingredients,
