We Have A Early Start Today,

so straight on with today's post,

 first thing we did a bit more painting to the gate, till the rain started,

 after a shower and breakfast we were off to Friendship,

 where we had arranged to meet up with Doc and Uday, the other members of the gang were out playing golf,

 so for us it was an afternoon spent looking around the market at Soi Bukaow, one of the first things we saw was some string cleaning, the beautician uses a piece of fine string which she twists as she pulls it across the customers face, removing I am guessing dead skin and oils on the clients face,

 plenty of fresh fruit on sale,

 not to mention garlic,

 in nearly the centre of the market a live fish stall,

 as it is the rainy season awnings are place over the market before the stalls are set up,

 Doc looks on as Uday buys a watch,

 then the rain started again, now this is where you have to be careful or you will get a soaking, water is held in the dips of the awnings, so men with long bamboo poles move the water from one low point to another, if all goes well the water finds its way to the ground outside the market, if the guys with the poles get it wrong anyone standing underneath will get a soaking!

 after looking around Soi Bukaow we made a move to another temporary market which sells mainly food,

 Uday and Doc have so many food stalls to look at,

 whilst wandering around I noticed this stall selling fish cakes,

 made with locally caught fish, green and red peppers are mixed in them to give them a bit of a tang,

 but this was the main thing on the agenda,

 a tilapia that had been rubbed with salt then bar-b-qued,

 we will have that one,

 I should also mention that in the stomach of the fish which had been gutted, a mixture of lemon grass, basil and spices had been added to enhance the flavour of the fish, when packed and ready to go a bag of salad is included in the price, the one we chose was I think 140 baht,

 I also bought some fresh pineapple for dessert,

 then home to 388 for our evening meal, I should also say that we had bought some chicken, we all enjoyed ourselves walking around the markets, they somehow seem so much more fun that the ones in the UK, after our meal we said our goodbyes to Uday and Doc and settled down to watch a DVD,

for this evening Kind Hearts and Coronets, although made in 1946 still good fun to watch, from the blurb, a distant poor relative of the Duke of D'Ascoyne plots to inherit the title by murdering the eight other heirs who stand ahead of him in the line of succession, it sounds horrific but handled as it was by Ealing Studio's it was a harmless black comedy to watch, we then caught up with Storage Wars, Kings of Restoration and Deadliest Catch, by now it was late, so for us we were off to bed.
