the one on Sukhumvit Road,
opposite the Bangkok Pattaya hospital, the market is there at the weekends, as we left the truck we were greeted by a stand of bamboo,
and some garden ornaments,
and a water feature,
plus a few more of various designs,
and some with a message,
this bush was very nice, it filled the air with the scent of jasmine,
as were these flowers, but very little scent,
these amaryllis flowers looked so nice, I am still at a loss as to why ours are not in flower yet,
Maureen decided to buy a few cactus to plant in a small bowl she has,
whilst I looked at the water lilies,
the colour of these ones so nice,
it is a pity the flowers do not last longer,
one of the aquatic stalls with a few customers,
a new one for me here a type of sedge which I guess is a bog plant growing around the side of fish ponds,
and now for a bit of fun,
I am not sure what they are, but do they look surprised or cute?
after saying our goodbyes to Nick and Maureen we popped over to the Sabai Resort,
painting on the building nearly opposite,
almost complete,
the reason we called in was that Uday had very kindly bought Diana some tops, two of which he had left in reception when they left as we did not see him before he moved out, many thanks Uday,
next stop Malibu Travel in Soi 16 Naklua,
we enjoyed our stay so much in Koh Chang we decided to go back, so we booked the mini bus to pick us up for another holiday,
which meant a trip to Tesco Lotus,
to buy Diana a pair of fins and a mask, so she can see the fish when we go snorkeling,
in the evening we were out walking along Beach Road,
looking at the stalls that lined the road,
it was the evening of the Pattaya International fireworks competition,
so Beach Road was closed,
we walked past the Royal Garden Plaza,
but the Christmas lights had not yet been switched on,
the Volks bar in front of the Plaza,
had a few customers,
we then made our way through the stalls past this character to the beach,
where chairs had been placed to watch the show,
against the skyline of the hotels on the other side of the bay,
I settled down with a beer,
both of us looking forward to the show,
a bite to eat for Diana,
then the show began,
I have to admit since a child I have always enjoyed firework displays,
and every one I see,
seems to get bigger and better than the last one,
two different types of fireworks for this year, these that seem to be side on,
and these that open and fall to earth but continue to burn making a curtain of light,
but of course,
it was the huge spectacular star bursts that stole the show,
so many colours,
the sights,
and sounds awesome,
the good news for the evening,
was that there was an offshore wind,
which meant that the smoke from previous fireworks was carried out to sea,
as the show stated to close the fireworks became bigger still,
and then the finale, a huge show that filled the sky, a thoroughly enjoyable evening, we made a move for home, then after watching a episode of The Chase and a film that was on TMN as it was after 02.00, we were off to bed.
