We Were Up Early,

again,

as we decided to go back to some of the coral islands, but on our way we stopped to pick up other travellers, it was in one of these stops that I noticed this light,

bearing in mind this was Koh Chang, Chang meaning elephant in Thai, I thought how appropriate this light was,

this was our boat for the day Pern Poon Sub, I have tried to make a link to their web page, but failed,

strangely enough almost opposite where we were a few days ago,

 and then we were away,

 Diana all smiles as usual,

we made our way out of the dock,

past lots of other boats that had not yet loaded with passengers,

I have to say this boat looked really the part, all sort of ancient Thai,

we made our way out of the harbour,

 past the Thai looking boat,

and the end of the harbour,

 and lighthouse,
and out of the harbour,

it was where we had in fact driven few days before,

 but it did not matter,

as we were on our way,

 but a slight sleep first,

 past a fishing boat,

the boat we were on had really comfortable seats,

we made our way to our first stop,

there were a few other swimmers in the water,

the first island Diana and myself snorkelled around,

it was so much fun looking at the fish,

we had to do it again at the next island,

the boat was a bit crowded,

but it was no problem for us,

we waited for the crowds to disappear,

 then in we went,

arriving back at the surface it was food time, for us,

 and the fish,

just a few grains of rice,

and the water was boiling with fish,

then off to the next island,

 and here it was,

 but before we arrived,

 the Thai style boat arrived,

as did a few other boats,

and this was our next port of call,

I am not sure what the island is called, but both Diana and myself snorkelled around it,

after climbing back on board the crew gave us all a soft drink,

 which made Diana happy,

but for me I stuck with the beer,

the last of the 5 islands we were visiting,

there were so many boats here we decided to have a short walk along the jetty but not to the shore,

meanwhile on the boat the bar-b-q was being prepared,

so we decided to make a move,

 along the jetty,

 there were a few swimmers,

 but we stayed,

 looking at the boats,

 and posing on the jetty,

 well I just had too!

 as did Diana,

then some one threw in some bread,

and the water exploded with fish,

just a few of the tour boats out here,

we then started our way back to the boat,

 along the jetty,

a quick farewell to the island and the fish,

and we were back on the boat,

 for a couple of pictures,

 of Diana,

 and the boat,

at the back of which some cooking was going on,

 not that I was worried,

I was still on the beer!

 then the food was served,

and there was lots of it,

as my Mum would sat 'do not play with your food', I was only trying to make a moustache out of it,

by now all of the boats were on their way home,

so naturally it became a race,

with a cough and a splutter,

all three boats put the pedal to the metal,

the bow wash from the other boat racing towards us,

 but,

 slowly,

 but surely,

we over took the other boat,

 'Victory!',

the other boat faded into the distance,

but I am guessing it was all in good fun,

after landing we made our way along the jetty,

 naturally we had to stop,

and have a look at a few shops,

and pick up the souvenir pictures that had been taken,

 past the seafood restaurants,

 and Diana's favourite, lobster!

walking past a few shops,

we stopped at the dried fish/shrimp/squid shop,

to buy a few more packs to take home, speaking of home back to our hotel we went,

and after a shower we decided to eat at the hotel, Paddy's Palms, poppadoms for Diana, a prawn cocktail for myself,

the good news was as it was Monday there was live music,

 our main course then arrived,

 lasagne for Diana,

 and a steak for myself,

then a real treat, not only did JJ take the stage, but another friend of Paddy's Palms did and boy could this guy play the harmonica, it was absolutely superb and on that note it was late, so for us we were off bed.
