I Dropped Diana Off At Work

for a early 04.00AM start, 

so I had the whole day to play with photographs, or so I thought, I decided on this one that was taken with the infrared camera, when we were on the pier at Brighton, 

I did a color swap to arrive at the above, 

 the photograph has plenty of detail, this a crop of the promenade, nearly done, except,

for some reason I always associate Brighton with the song Stranger On The Shore, by Acker Bilk, so I decided to have just one stranger on the shore in the final photograph, 

I added a sky, 

before making it a black & white, 

I then made the blacks a tad blacker, it all looks so easy, but it took me all day!, for some reason I just could not arrive at the result I wanted, thankfully another 100 sheets of matte paper had just arrived, speaking of which for my prints I use a A 3 matte paper supplied by PPD, (Photo Paper Direct),

this is it, I do not use Epson paper who made the printer due to costs, but when it comes to printing on the printer there are all manner of paper settings to choose from, plain, Epsom gloss photo, other gloss papers, etc you get the idea, so which setting to use for paper? well if you turn over the label in the paper pack you will see this:

a guide from the paper manufacturer as to what settings to use for their paper in your printer, I tried matte paper and the setting suggested by PPD., the settings suggested gave a much truer color to my prints that the 'matte paper' setting, so if you use third party paper have a look on the back of the paper label and you might find recommendations there, back to the print, I have never spent so long on a single photograph, normally I can play with 3 or 4 over a day, but this one just had a mind of its own! after Diana arrived home and our evening meal it was feet up for the usual Outback Opal Hunters and a Deadliest Catch, and then a nice change, there was a Midsomer Murder on for this evening, but it appeared on a HD channel, normally it is on a non HD channel, so that made a nice change, after which Diana was off to bed as she was tired from today's early start, for myself a couple from Bangers & Cash before I too was off to bed.
