We Continued On Our Stately Cruise,

along the River Cam,

but for some new to punting,

it was a learning curve,

a steep one!

we passed a ivy covered college,

and other punts,

making their way,

downriver,

we were getting near our starting point,

but then,

one of the other punts that did not have a professional on the pole,

got a tad too close,

a slight bump,

and all was well,

we carried on passing the boardwalk,

people walking along it as they took a walk along the river,

we will be next to tie up,

in we go,

many thanks to our Captain for the punt,

a quick pose,

and we too were walking along the boardwalk,

lots of punts still waiting to be hired,

and then look,

they were so cute,

Mum and 7 ducklings,

by now we were hungry,

so we started looking at restaurants,

plenty around here,

but we thought we would walk into the town center,

past this advertisement decked row of railings,

some cleverly designed,

we walked by them,

and passed some buildings of age,

I remember this shop from our last visit here,

selling the most beautiful summer dresses,

they were so nice,

the window display had 3 or 4 dresses in it,

the material for this one almost looking like a shirt I have at home,

we continued our walk,

past more bicycles,

and advertisements on the railings,

on the other side not a Citroen van converted to sell food,

but what appeared to be a dare I guess? a Wolseley, or at least the front grill of one,

bikes aplenty,

by now we were nearing the town square,

I guess you would call it,

a difficult restaurant to photograph,

as soon as one person left the doorway someone else jumped in to have their photograph taken!

the girls disappeared into this shop for a few minutes,

then out again,

dinning alfresco perhaps?

into the square,

the stall here,

grabbing the attention of Kai and Diana,

I had a quick look around,

back to the girls, purchase made,

and we were on our way,

on the right,

this imposing building,

and then there they were, I thought these chimneys look strange when I first saw them,

the last time we were here, this is the photograph of them I took then, the next time I play with more photographs I might try this one as a black & white, decision made regarding food,

back to the Thai restaurant that we saw near the riverfront, Thaikhun,

inside lots of Thai posters,

and memorabilia,

on to the food in no particular order, we started with a selection of foods, traditional Thai fishcakes, tempura king prawns, salt & pepper pork ribs and chicken satay,

for our rice dish,

a prawn pineapple fried rice which was prawns in a turmeric egg fried rice, cashew nuts, raisins, crispy shallots, red and green peppers, onion and fresh coriander,

Kai had a chat with the Thai owner, and 2 special dishes arrived, I am not sure what they are,

but they were delicious,

a quick photograph,

and then this dish arrived,

so much food,

and well I just had to!

both of the girls just could not wait to get stuck in,

I noticed this sign, common all over Thailand, Thais 10 baht (in Thai) everyone else 50 baht, which is pretty good, normally it is a factor of 10, when Diana's family came to visit us in Thailand we went to a few national parks, 20 baht for Thais, 200 baht for each of Diana's family and myself,

on to desserts, I do not know what the bill came to, Kai insisted on paying for it all, many thanks indeed to Kai,

back out into the street,

and a taxi,

to the station,

which was pretty big,

the good news that train arrived in a few minutes, and just one stop, straight through to London, as we were traveling back from Victoria I alighted at Kent House, I had arranged to meet Mike in the Moon & Stars, so a walk from the station to the Spoons, Mike meet me and we chatted the night away, time just flew past, we did not leave until gone 11.00, after saying our goodbyes we made a move for our homes, Diana had already gone to bed, and after a nightcap I too was off to bed.
