was for us about to begin,
I was on a mission,
Diana, I think jokingly said, on Christmas morning she would like to wake up to a coffee and be surrounded by presents,
so tip-toes it was then,
and sure enough as Diana awoke to a coffee,
and she was surrounded by presents,
as was I,
one of my favorite authors, Wilbur Smith, how did Diana know?
last March as we walked through Beckenham High Street Diana spotted these,
a pair of gold earrings that she said she liked so much, so the next day I went to the shop and they were hers,
a couple of things to keep Diana warm in the winter,
I had opened one of mine, Diana had bought a book by Wilbur Smith, Pharaoh,
and to accompany it Desert God, I already had a couple of these in the series, what a great present,
and the presents did not stop,
I was intrigued,
then the box opened, a pair of cufflinks to go with the shirts I had bought a few weeks ago,
also Diana had bought a couple of the new fashioned collarless shirts,
after shave and body shampoo,
then a real treat from Taylors of Old Bond Street, sandalwood cologne,
Diana was still unwrapping her presents,
just what she wanted,
I meet up with Steve and Kai to pop over to his mother and wish her a Merry Christmas, we went for a walk in the garden, where I spotted this lovely fir tree, we also had a small breakfast of smoked salmon, pigs in blankets, plus more than a few other titbits and champagne,
then back home,
where it was present time,
all over again,
so a quick pose by the tree,
from the girls,
then bubbly time,
for Steve, Kai and myself,
whilst we were out Diana had been busy,
now time for presents,
the girls had bought each other some goodies,
but what is it?
Diana almost could not contain herself,
and here it was, a beauty bath set,
and for Kai,
her favourite perfume, and for Steve a few bottles of craft beer and a selection of signature chocolate drinks from Fortnum and Mason,
from Steve to myself a bottle of Kraken, a delicious dark smooth spiced rum,
and from Kai a lovely red wine,
also a Blu Ray disc, Bohemian Rhapsody,
table set,
and it was time to eat,
so out with the excellent red that Steve and Kai had brought round,
'Cheers!', from the girls,
and from us,
and out with the crackers,
and another 'Cheers!', from myself.
first the girls,
Diana lucky this time,
then Steve,
our turn next,
Diana again,
and some luck for myself,
at the end of the crackers, everyone a winner!
time for the main course,
Steve did the honours,
what a feast,
Diana carved,
we also had a joint of roast pork,
we all really enjoyed ourselves, we had drank the white and the red,
so it was now time to complete the flag of the UK, with the blue!
so eyes down and tuck in,
Diana did so well with the cooking, it was all so delicious,
and there was more to come,
a flaming 2 year old Christmas pudding,
with cream,
lots of cream!
as well as cake and mince pies, we were all full to bursting, but there were a few more festivities to come, the second set of crackers had a game in them, each cracker had a wind up Santa in it, and in the box the track,
so it was wind up your Santa, and let the games commence,
it was great fun,
Diana made a short video of one off the games, late in the evening we said our farewells to Steve and Kai,
and for us a nightcap and a film, for this evening we decided on the Blu Ray that Steve and Kai had kindly bought for us Bohemian Rhapsody, it was excellent, such a shame that the cruel disease he died from also impacted so many others worldwide, what a fabulous Christmas, many thanks indeed to Steve and Kai and of course especially to Diana, for such a wonderful day, and with that we were off to bed.
