Sunday,

Diana's day off,

first thing a look at today's advent bubbly, into the refrigerator for this evening,

the orchid that had started to flower last week, is now putting on a good show,

the second stem is also opening,

and one of our old orchids is again in flower,

and nice it looks too, hopefully the first of many to flower on this plant,

before lunch we decided on a walk to the mansion,

today there were a number of antique stalls there,

so we thought we would have a look,

 first a pose,

 and then to the mansion,

as usual for a weekend happening there were some food stalls here,

not as many as during the summer when different events are held,

today just the three and one selling homemade cakes,

a quick look a some of the stalls,

 this one specialising in pottery,

and bottles, dating back 100 years or so I am guessing looking these,

 inside as the poster suggests,

 pretty much everything,

 is from the last century,

so many times I am looking at items for sale, and think back to my youth in the 1950s and think, 'my Mum and Dad had that!',

we decided to head back when I noticed this car, I had not seen one of these in ages,

it is a Nissan, although there are lots of its brothers, the Nissan Figaro on the roads of the UK, it is very rare to see this unusual Nissan, the Pao,

we started the walk home, Beckenham Place Park is becoming ever more popular since Lewisham council decided to revamp it, just a few years ago it seemed that there was hardly any visitors to the park, but now there are crowds almost every day,

walking back I noticed this nice stand of black bamboo,

a great favourite of Steve and myself,

back home, time to lite the candles,

we started with a chicken noodle soup,

for our our main course today a smoked gammon ham,

 'Cheers!',

 for myself sans gravy,

 behind the candles our dessert,

 a chocolate log,

 all set for cutting,

just enough, for today with plenty left for a bite during the week,

what is it they say? 'I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous!',

in the evening Diana was out, it was the birthday of one of her workmates, Nicoleta,

and here is Diana with Nadia,

so Nicoleta had hired a restaurant in Croydon,

for the celebration, lots of food as you might expect,

all of that followed by lots of dancing,

when Diana returned home it was time for the bubbly, feet up to watch,

The Nightmare Before Christmas, although we went to the concert last week, we just had to watch it again, and with the end of the film we were off to bed.

Out of curiosity, wouldn't that Nissan be called a Datsun based on the age of the car?

Dear Jil, the car is a lot ‘newer’ than it looks, Datsun's original production run began in 1931. From 1958 to 1986, only vehicles exported by Nissan were identified as Datsun. By 1986 Nissan had phased out the Datsun name, the Nissan Pao is a retro-styled three-door hatchback manufactured by Nissan for model years 1989-1991, and originally marketed solely in Japan at their Nissan Cherry Stores, but some escaped! best regards, Stan and Diana.
