Today We Were Going To London,

Diana's passport needed renewing,

looking out of the, it has to be said, the rather dirty windows on the train, work continuing on what was once Battersea power station,

the new wing of the Battersea Dogs Home completed,

 as are these apartments,

but these a work in progress,

across the river, and onto the tube,

and out by the plant stall,

 at Charing Cross,

 we walked through Trafalgar Square,

 stopping for a pose,

unfortunately the fountains were not working,

so a quick pose from myself instead,

and here it was, the Philippine Embassy just a couple of streets away, a few hours later and we were on our way, Diana's passport will be ready in 8 -10 weeks,

we walked back past the square,

and in to Leicester Square, where there are a number of cinemas,

also the memorial to William Shakespeare,

 in no time at all,

 we were in Chinatown,

which was nicely decked out in Chinese lanterns,

a pose by the gate and it was time for lunch,

we started with prawn crackers,

followed by some chicken spring rolls, and for a change a bottle of Mateus Rose,

also a starter, fried chicken with lots of red and green sliced peppers, I fancied something a bit spicy,

'Cheers!',

for our main course, chicken and cashew,

and chicken in a black bean sauce,

it was lucky we did not order anything else,

the portions were huge,

after our meal Diana looked for some Filipino bread, but the shop that we heard about that sold it only baked a few days a week, and this was not one of them, just our luck!

 we continued our walk,

to the Chinatown bakery, but we did not see anything we liked there,

arriving at Newport Court,

where we saw this neat machine,

it worked rather like a doughnut maker, but used molds,

to make these fish shaped delicacies,

 shopping over,

back to the tube and home,

the clock by the tracks of the Victoria station,

a quick one in O'Neal's and we were home, where Diana continued the last of the unpacking, in the evening it was feet up for one from Poirot, a couple from New Tricks, the blog now up to date and with that, we were off to bed.
