First Thing,

we were up and out,

glad rags on,

we were off to visit Steve in Rainham,

it was a nice day as we made our way to the station,

we had checked the times of the trains and would be meeting Steve and Kai onboard,

on the opposite platform,

crowds going to London, it is the Notting Hill Carnival this weekend, as it happens we went there with Steve and Kai in 2010,

and here we are at Bromley South,

Steve kindly meet us at the station and in no time we were at his home,

drinks in the chiller, so all set for the afternoon,

I did the honours,

with the bubbly,

it started to become overcast, but the clouds held off,

group photograph,

'Cheers!', from Diana and Kai,

one of Steve,

and his lovely garden,

features,

and flowers everywhere you looked,

on the shed door,

a clock,

along with a temperature gauge,

and a humidity meter,

ta-dah!

whilst we relaxed looking at the garden,

Steve was busy inside,

Steve joining Kai on the grass,

who then decided to try Steve's chairlift to go to the bathroom,

Diana joined Kai on the grass,

after which Steve brought out from the kitchen some Indian nibbles,

so time to open the red wine,

we all settled down and tucked in to our main course of brisket, pork slices and roasted potatoes, all of which was so nice,

time for a back massage for Diana from Kai,

another quick look at the garden

and time to relax,

before a huge dessert,

which was absolutely delicious,

a big 'Thank You' to Steve for taking such good care of us and for such a lovely afternoon,

Steve kindly dropped us off at the station, and we said our thanks and goodbyes, the trains run every 52 minutes past the hour, unfortunally, someone who shall remain nameless, (but her name begins with D), misread the time and thought it was 32 past the hour, we had a bit of a wait,

opposite us oast houses that had been converted into homes

I noticed that like Gravesend, Rainham had a platform 0,

the sun was setting,

we were soon at Bromley South waiting for the train to Beckenham Junction, Steve and Kai would stay on the same train to their station, we said our farewells, what a wonderful day, arriving home it was feet up for a nightcap as we watched an Endeavor before we were off to bed.
