Do Not Mess With Fish 11

and you thought fish were fun!
greater weever

first the lesser weever now the greater weever!

A poisonous fish usually found only in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean has been discovered in a British river. The greater weever fish, whose venomous spines can cause victims weeks of intense pain, was found in a stretch of the Thames estuary. Despite the danger, delighted environmentalists say it is a clear sign that the river is recovered from the heavy pollution which once slashed fish numbers. The greater weever is the 60th new species found in the Thames since 2006. It was seen after a two-year investigation by the Environment Agency and Zoological Society of London. Environment Agency Fishery Officer Emma Barton said: “The diversity and abundance of fish is an excellent indicator of the estuary’s health.”
