I Know That Health And Safety Laws Were Strict In The UK,
but in the States they even apply to kids lemonade made out of lemons stands,
Richard Garcia, a Tulare code enforcement officer saw eight-year-old Daniela Earnest selling her lemonade and advised her, that her stand was not safe, and also that they needed a business license to sell lemonade, so all the plans that Daniela had to save up money to go to Disneyland were dashed,
I must admit whilst I have not seen stands like this in the UK I thought this was a part of American life where kids sell lemonade or cookies to raise money through their own enterprises, Tulare officials said they cannot recall ever shutting down a lemonade stand before this week, but it's not altogether uncommon, authorities across the nation have done the same, and in Fresno, a Huntington Boulevard shaved ice machine run by a resident mostly so neighborhood kids could get a sno-cone on hot days was shut down by a Fresno code enforcer in June 2008, so I guess you could say kids in the States are being shown one of the rules of business practise, pay city hall first! shame to spoil a bit of harmless fun.
