We Decided Once Again To Have Breakfast On Jomtien Beach Road,

having travelled almost halfway along it last week, Diana decided she would like to go back to her favorite,
the Surf Kitchen, evidently the spaghetti bolognese there was the best on the beach,

but it also has a full and varied menu,

nice seating with orchids,
and nice friendly staff,
also if you can read Japanese the red signs are announcing that it now also has a sushi kitchen, spaghetti for Diana, prawn salad for me and two ice coffees 390 baht, looking towards Sattahip,
across the road to the beach,
and towards Pattaya,
this is the side entrance, of the restaurant, it is on the corner of Soi 6, the soi next to the immigration office,
parked in the soi was this traveling fruit truck, really handy if you do not want to go to the market,
now here is two pieces of information for folks that live out here, firstly if you are going to immigration on foot you must have waterproof shoes, or, be able to long jump say 3 meters, or, be able to play hop-scotch on the semi submerged sand bags! I have always seen the entrance with water in it, but never as bad as this,
secondly if you seem not to have a telephone connection it could be that the pole that died and is laying down has your cable on it!
also on the way back I just took this picture of the new road, a hotel or condo who knows?
then home to watch a couple of movies, but first Mick and Mass called in, they had just been to Tesco to buy a DVD player so we lent them some DVD's, just as we started to watch King Kong Mark and Anchisa called in, so a few more cups of tea, now in the trivia department, this movie has the most number of visual special effect shots - around 2400, it surpasses the record set by Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005), which has 2200 shots as well as the previous Lord of the Rings movies (FOTR has 560, TTT has 800, ROTK has 1488) I did not know that, but it certainly was entertaining,
by now it was getting late so we started to watch The Aviator, great movie, a snapshot of Howard Hughes's life from 1927 to 1947, but then the taxi arrived to take Diana to Lao to get her double entry 60 day visa, so it was bon voyage to Diana and off to town for me!
the town was packed, these tourists I think from Taiwan were looking at the bug stall which is just before Soi Blues Factory,
plenty of fresh fish for dinners in the restaurant next to it,
Marine Plaza fish market,
into Walking Street which was busy,
the beer bars on both sides of the pathway leading to Living Dolls had closed and have been empty for some time, but now signs of new life, New in Thailand is the first to open selling food,
looking towards Living Dolls,
and work seems to have started here on the right, just ready for the high season, then in to see Tom and Big Jim in Sisterz, a great bar for a show, we were joined by one of the congenial owners, Paul, who very kindly got a round in for all of us, Ken, the other owner also called over to say Hi, then we decanted to Champions for a night cap then home to bed.

You and Diana eat an awful lot of food. Hope she keeps her weight down, because she still looks good.

Just around the corner from Surf Kitchen is Yellow House - recommend it as good place to get a message.

Dear Elliot, I know it looks like we eat a lot, but we normally have just 2 meals a day, a late breakfast/early lunch, then our evening meal, to be truthful I some times find it hard to eat out here, I guess it is the heat, but I will keep an eye on Diana’s figure! best regards, Stan and Diana.

Dear Anonymous, thanks for the recommendation, as you can see from the blog we seldom go for a massage, but it is good to know of one that is known to be good, best regards, Stan and Diana.
