likewise, at the Cineworld cinema in Cambridge the standard price for a family to see Chronicles of Narnia over Christmas costs £27.60, but if you like to watch the film in 3D as we do the price for the 3D glasses in Liverpool jumps to £35.60 – an increase of 41 per cent, or in Cambridge costs £38 – an increase of 38 per cent, Vue cinemas did not fare much better, with a price jump of 28 per cent when comparing normal to 3D films, a ticket for a family of four at their branch in Westfield, west London, on New Year’s Day costs £29, rising to £37.20 for a 3D film, with the cost of the glasses included,
the research comes as it was revealed that cinemas are making huge profits on screening 3D films, Cineworld recently revealed a strong boost to its profits, with total sales growing 8.5 per cent on last year, it attributed its success largely to Toy Story 3 – the 3D sequel to the original film and the year’s most successful film, grossing more than £70million in Britain and Ireland so far, so at just the equivalent of £3.00 per adult, (I do not know the kids price), for the price of a 3D ticket over here it's a bargain!
