in case you do not have any fishing tackle these rods are available,
the floats are made from the same material that the soles of flip-flops are made from,
we set up as usual at the end of the walkway, today we were the first people to arrive,
the resident duck is still alive and well,
no sooner had we started than Nick was into one,
then it was Diana's turn to reel one in,
another for Nick,
then it was my turn,
one more for the pot,
by now this was number three,
in case you thought that the bamboo fishing rods were not up to it, on the other side of the pond the girls over there were pulling the fish in thick and fast,
then things went a bit quiet, so a quick look at the pets, the rabbit has had another litter of three,
but so far no issue from the parrot,
then things got a bit lively on the other side of the pond as the fish started feeding again,
another for Nick,
by now we had several,
the score so far, one for Diana, five for Nick and seven for myself,
a quick game of spot the lizard,
a bit easier to see now,
I must admit the camouflage was very effective,
I had always thought that lizards like this one only ate insects, but this one and his mate were waiting for discarded or dropped pieces of the bread bait we were using to hit the planking, one of them would then rush up and eat the dropped morsel,
another one for Nick,
one more to even the score,
but this time the fish was much larger, unfortunately this type of fish, pla yesuit (spelt as it sounds) is full of bones, so not much good for us to eat,
another for Nick,
a handsome looking fish and it has to be said they put up a good fight for their size,
the biggest of the day,
as the day draws to a close Diana has another try,
as we pack our gear away, Diana feeds some of the left over bait to the duck,
we keep a few of the fish to eat, at the end of the day the fish are weighed and added to our drink and food bill,
just as I am about to reel my line in a damsel fly perches on the line, the final score, Diana one, Nick eight and ten for myself, a great restful day out,
then back to Nick and Maureen's for a chicken casserole followed by ice cream, cheese and biscuits,
time for Nicks revenge, a game of Monopoly,
after a couple of fun packed hours Nick has twelve houses and two hotels, he bankrupts us all! many thanks to Nick and Maureen for putting up with us and the lovely food,
then back to 388 feet up for a couple of DVDs, first The Statement, it is the tale of a former Nazi executioner who becomes a target of hit men and Police investigators, a few moral questions of course rear their heads, the central character during the war killed Innocent people, but is it right to in this day and age execute him with out a trial?
we enjoyed the first series so much we made a start on the second series of Are You Being Served? so much fun not only in the one liners but the facial expressions of all involved, then for us off to bed.
