we drove to the plant market,
to buy some orchids for the table decoration, the weekend plant market is just outside of the main area of Pattaya, if you take the Sukhumvit Road going towards Bangkok as you pass the Bangkok/Pattaya hospital on your left take the the next 'U' turn going back to Pattaya and it will be on your left, in the car park looking back towards the Bangkok Pattaya hospital,
as soon as you walk into the sales area there are so many plants to look at,
fish as well as plants,
bonsai,
new for this week, handmade handicrafts,
the self contained water features seemed popular this week,
a box of moss was on our list to buy,
I wanted to use some moss on the piece of wood we bought in Bangkok,
a few more bonsai for sale,
I know I keep saying it,
if only we had a bigger garden I would have a fish pond,
with lots of water lilies,
a quick look at one of the cactus stalls,
next door to it a lady has a new addition to her range of woven goods,
a few bananas to snack on later,
an abundance of bougainvillea,
amazingly all of these different colours from one bush,
in the large tree department you can buy them with fruit already on them,
a band of happy faces,
orchids bought for tomorrow, 20 baht a bunch,
next door a stall selling plants rather than just the flowers,
some an impressive size,
we also wanted to buy some air plants, sale made,
we then went to a second air plant stall,
to buy a few different ones,
we made our way along the stalls,
then came across another stall selling orchids,
and pretty they were too,
and in blue as well as all of the normal colours,
then shopping over,
time for a ice coffee, and a jelly coffee for Diana,
Diana was having some food cooked,
so I took a few pictures as we waited,
we then made our way,
back to the truck and home,
then for me,
time to play air plants,
which is my latest project,
tying then to the piece of wood took longer than I expected,
they were just so difficult to tie exactly where I wanted them,
and not being able to see the ultra thin fishing line I was using,
did not help at all!
but as the sun was going down,
it was job done,
so a quick mist of water,
then wait and see how they grow,
a shower and change then our evening meal,
chicken and sweetcorn soup for a starter,
followed by garlic bread,
we have found it is better prepared in the oven rather than on the bar-b-q,
so then it was time to light it up,
for some reason it took really well this week,
and on with the food,
opening up the packages I had a nice surprise, unknown to me Diana had bought a piece of fresh salmon, for Diana she had decided on a pizza pie,
the salmon was baked with slices of lemon,
for our dessert we still had some of the grapes we had bought at the market, so we finished those off, we spent the rest of the evening listening to music and chatting away, then indoors about 11.00,
for a couple from Red Dwarf, if there is a favourite character it would be Cat with quotes like,
Rimmer: You're totally egocentric, you flee at the first
sign of trouble, you always look out for Number One, you're vain, you're
narcissistic, and you're self-obsessed.
Cat: You just listed all my best features!
or,
Kryten: They've taken Mr Rimmer! Sir, they've taken Mr
Rimmer!
Cat: Quick! Let's get out of here before they bring him
back!
by now it was late so for us we were off to bed.
