It Started Out As An Idea For A Gift,

Peter Bellerby was looking for a globe to buy for his father's 80th birthday,

but finding nothing that fitted his idea of the perfect globe, there was only one option, to make one himself,

after spending tens of thousands of pounds he decided to use his new knowledge to set up a globe manufacturing workshop,

he set up a company in 2008 that now trades in Stoke Newington, London, known as Bellerby & Co Globemakers,

you would think that it would be easy to make a globe, but take just one process in a globes production, goring, the process of applying the cut pieces of paper to a globe can take up to a year to learn, Peter comments, 'it’s been something that’s been an incredible challenge, the whole design process, the whole way of making anything using a sphere at its base, at its centerpiece is fraught with different problems and issues because you are multiplying every error by pi', to have a look at their daily life have a look here at their Instagram page, just a small point the workshop is not open to the public.
