but first two things,
we wanted to visit the world famous Sandbanks,
we drove though roads lined with mature trees,
and were soon heading down to the sea,
and saw the sign,
nearly there,
in case you do not know Sandbanks
is a small peninsula or spit crossing the mouth of Poole Harbor on the English
Channel coast at Poole in Dorset, England, this is the beach by one side of the car park,
we crossed through the car park looking for a coffee shop, I should mention the area is also well know for yachts and yachting,
looking back towards the yacht club house,
and to where we were going to walk,
I had to try a panorama,
we were told a cafe called the Jazz,
was further along the road,
a quick pose,
and then lots of fun for these youngsters,
we passed the Sandbanks Hotel,
and in the road next to it, the Jazz Cafe,
we fancied a coffee,
before starting our walk along the sand,
coffee and biscuit for myself,
a sandwich for Diana,
it is so difficult not to smile and show off my missing tooth,
we had a slight problem with wasps outside, so inside we went another coffee for myself,
then on to the beach,
and nice it was too,
and it went on for miles,
a quick pose,
as this chap makes whatever it is look easy,
another pose, this time for me,
unlike yesterday the weather was so nice,
a panorama of some of the beach houses, as an aside Sandbanks is known
for its high property prices and for its award-winning beach, in 2005 Sandbanks
was reported to have the fourth highest land value by area in the world,
the beach is all sand,
except one for one or two small areas like this,
we continued our walk for quite some time,
until we recognized where the car park was, what a good job we were early, the second thing we wanted to do after seeing Sandbanks was go to our next stop, The Harbour Heights Hotel,
where Diana had reserved a table for a afternoon cream tea in The View,
and it did have a nice view,
and they had an aquarium, so it already had my vote!
we nearly had the place to ourselves,
a quick look outside,
and tea was served,
along with all of the cakes and sandwiches,
a hello from me,
and from Diana,
starting at the top, cakes,
finger sandwiches,
with scones, fresh cream and strawberry jam on the bottom layer,
two different types of tea, what could be better?
after our tea and cakes we wandered outside to admire the view,
and have a pose,
the bill came to £47.30, we were then on our way back home, what a fabulous break it really was, arriving home it was feet up for some television, then for us we were off to bed.
