You Want To Live In A Castle, But There Are None Available In Poland,

what to do? build your own of course!

photograph Archsz/Wikimedia Commons, so find a nice piece of land, no land available? Well make a island on Lake Stobnica, a pristine natural paradise about 50 km from the city of Poznan at the edge of a Special Protection Area for Birds (20 species) within the Natura 2000 network, so lots of wildlife to look at, what could possibly go wrong? quite a bit as it happens, the building and how permission was granted for it is under question, in July 2020, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań accused 6 people, including representatives of the investor, an architect, and local officials,

that same year, the provincial governor was removed from office. In early 2021, the Central Anti-corruption Bureau initiated another investigation: suspicion of financing investments from money laundering (transfers from Cyprus offshore accounts), in August 2021, the Chief Inspector of Construction Supervision (GINB) annulled the building permit for Stobnica Castle, but the decision was immediately appealed by the developers, and construction has been continuing ever since, so who owns it? well no one seems to know, but it is rumoured that so far it has cost 400 million zloty, at todays rate £79,915,710.08 or $99,551,000.00, so who is building it? the answer might be here.
