so we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening watching DVDs, but at one point we had another visitor,
whether it was the same one as a couple of nights ago we do not know, but if it was it does seem strange for this moisture loving creature to try to get into the dry, twice,
Animal Nation - The Chemistry Of War was the first that we watched, the theme as we moved from land to water was that in animal warfare it is a constant arms race developing toxic cocktails which intended victims try to outsmart or out maneuver, a truly fascinating program,
when we were in the UK we went to The London Dungeon, mention was made of the Black Death and the Great Fire, so I bought this DVD as I thought Diana would find it interesting - and she did, The History File - Fire and Fever, is a reenactment of both events, well made and explained clearly, we both enjoyed it,
next a true epic, El Cid, short review, film of the legendary Spanish hero, Rodrigo Diaz ("El Cid" to his followers), who, without compromising his strict sense of honour, still succeeds in taking the initiative and driving the Moors from Spain, but this hardly does the film justice, also as you may know both of the stars in real life loathed each other both on and off the set, but still a great film to watch,
well I had to buy The Secret Policemans Ball (1976/7), having seen it so many years ago, not to every ones taste but if you like Monthy Python(minus Eric Idle), Fringe (minus Dudley Moore),The Goodies, Dame Edna, Elenor Bron, Neil Innes, the two John's Fortune & Bird, Alan Bennett, Jonathan Miller et al then this is the show for you,
to see off the evening Event Horizon, a science fiction/horror movie, just enough thrills to make you jump, it is the story of a disappearing space ship that reappears with some thing on board that the rescue mission have to face, then for us off to bed.
