For Some Time We Have Been Thinking Of Buying A LED Television,

and of course the extras that go with it,

when I was in the UK I had a stereo sound system that had Quad 85 cables to improve the sound quality, as the signal was analog the better and much more expensive cables did make the system sound better, but here is the thing I have been looking at cables for HDMI the 1.4a ones needed for 3D audio and visual signals, the same thing here some cables £9.99 for 1.5 meters, some at £80.00 for the same length, but the thing is the signal is digital, I have always thought that being digital you received the signal in full or not at all, so the cable makes no difference, but for the first time a company confirms this,

a technology magazine showed experts footage using a £100 cable from electronics company Monster and an unbranded version costing about £2, they found the picture quality to be identical, Ruslan Kogan, the boss of cable manufacturer Kogan Technologies, claims retailers are carrying out a marketing scam, 'to get an HD picture you need an HD cable, but to say there is a difference in picture between the most expensive cables and the cheapest is just ludicrous,’ he said 'there isn’t, when we used to have analogue television, there would be a difference because you could get interference from other electronics, but an HD cable is a digital cable – you either get a picture or you don’t,' Mr Kogan singled out John Lewis and Currys for particular criticism, saying the retail giants – which stock HDMI cables costing up to £100 – ‘should know better’

get your cheap HDMI cables here! he has even offered a free Kogan HDMI cable, worth £4, to anyone who buys a new TV from either chain if they send proof of purchase via email to cablecon@kogan.co.uk. to state the facts again, consumer electronics analyst Will Greenwald, who carried out the cable study for PC Magazine, agreed with Mr Kogan’s assessment, 'claims that more expensive cables put forth greater video or audio fidelity are nonsense,’ he said, 'from a technical standpoint, it simply doesn’t make sense,’ so that's saved a bit on next years budget!
