cloudy skies, it did not look good for the afternoon,
so it was another feet up and watch a few DVDs, first of interest to me was from the War File, Kriegsmarine, the German Navy of War, not as much footage of the ships of the line, but it was interesting to see how the stalled invasion of Russia derailed the whole of the thinking behind the manufacture of the new German Navy,
for a change of pace, The Book of Eli, almost filmed in black and white, the story is set in a war ravaged future with Eli making his way across a barren wasteland with a book, the book, that he will guard with his life,
then a real treat, Elizabeth R, a television series made in 1971, obviously dated in its sets, but no expense was spared on the costumes, when Elizabeth Tudor comes to the throne, her (male) advisors know she has to marry, but this Queen has her own mind, as an aside over 200 gowns were made for the title role alone, we also watched some more of Bargain Hunt and a documentary from the BBC in HD, Empire of the Desert Ants, fascinating programme, then for us off to bed.
